What film do you recommend?
This one’s a loaded question as we recommend all of them! Each film has its own special characteristics, and some may be better suited to specific environments.
If you’re just starting out, we recommend you check your camera format (35mm, 110, 120 etc), purchase within your budget and start from there. Then you can build your preference for grain, saturation, tone etc.
A rule of thumb is to use film with sensitivity (ISO or ASA) suitable to your shooting environment:
- Daylight (100-400ISO)
- Mixed (400ISO)
- Lowlight/Indoors with Flash (400-3200ISO)
Can you help me choose the right film for my project?
Absolutely! Our staff can suggest film stocks based on your creative needs, whether you're looking for vibrant color reproduction, a specific grain pattern, or a particular look for a black and white project. Contact us here.
